Ralph Schär, together with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, represented by Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Albers and PD Dr. med. Moritz Deml, has been recertified as a «Surgical Spine Centre of Excellence».
What is a Center of Excellence for Spine Surgery?
The EUROSPINE certification concept was developed for centers specializing in spine surgery. The term «center» generally refers to a highly specialized facility with modern equipment, highly qualified personnel, and a high level of experience and expertise in its field. These spine centers also offer 24/7 care with the ability to perform emergency spinal surgery at any time.
EUROSPINE
The certificate is awarded by the European Spine Society EUROSPINE. It is a guarantee of the high quality of treatment provided by a spine centre. The certification as a European Spine Centre of Excellence must be repeated at regular intervals in order to demonstrate the consistently high quality standards in the treatment of patients with complex spinal problems.
