During their stay, our patients are accommodated in 2 general wards, which have a total of 50 beds. Our rooms are bright and friendly, with television and telephone connection. In this way, we would like to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible. Our general wards are usually where patients are admitted to the hospital and where diagnostics and preparations for surgery take place.
Our specialist neuro-monitoring ward (intermediate care unit or IMC) has a capacity of 9 beds. It provides optimal care for patients in need of monitoring and is the link between general ward and intensive care unit. Under the direction of the neuro-intensive care physician Prof. Dr. Werner Z'Graggen and the head physician Prof. Dr. Stefan Jakob of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, a highly qualified team of nursing staff takes care of the well-being of our patients.
The intensive care unit provides special treatment for seriously ill patients. It is managed by the Department of Intensive Care Medicine and is run in cooperation with the Department of Neurosurgery.
The operating area with 4 operating rooms is the heart of our clinic. It has state-of-the-art equipment and enables us to further develop and perfect surgical techniques while ensuring the greatest possible safety for our patients.
More than 30 neurosurgeons are responsible for optimal and comprehensive medical treatment. They determine the therapy plan individually and together with the patient and exchange information with experts from other disciplines at interdisciplinary tumor boards.
The nursing team looks after patients who are inpatients in the neurosurgical ward. They work in close cooperation with the physicians.
