Dr. Janine-Ai Schlaeppi is a specialist in neurosurgery and has been an attending physician at the Department of Neurosurgery at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, since 2017. She specializes in neuromodulation for the treatment of pain disorders.
Janine-Ai Schlaeppi completed her medical studies at the University of Bern and gained valuable international experience during research stays in Japan and the USA. She devoted her doctoral thesis to research on neural stem cells.
In 2009, Janine-Ai Schlaeppi began her specialist training at the Department of Neurosurgery at the Inselspital under Prof. Andreas Raabe. She gained additional qualifications in emergency medicine and general surgery before deepening her specialization at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital under Prof. Javier Fandino. Since 2015, she has been back at the Inselspital working in the field of pain disorders.
