Since January 2024, the Insel Group has been offering a department for patients with supplementary insurance on the top floor of the new Anna Seiler House. «Insel Premium» is the most modern department for semi-private and private insurance patients in Switzerland. By combining cutting-edge university medicine with the service and comfort of upscale catering and hospitality, the Insel Group is expanding its range of services while also meeting the requirement of supplementary insurance providers for transparent differentiation of additional services for patients with supplementary insurance.

At the beginning of the year, Insel Premium, Switzerland's most modern university semi-private and private ward, began operations. It is located on the top floor of the new main building of the Inselspital and is designed as an interdisciplinary and interprofessional ward for patients with supplementary insurance. The high standard of the department, which is tailored to the needs of patients with semi-private or private insurance, offers an elegant and health-promoting environment.

Additional services Insel Premium

The Inselspital is a medical center of excellence and knowledge with an international reputation, offering all patients cutting-edge university medicine. Patients in the Insel Premium department receive a wide range of additional services for personalized care and increased comfort:

  • Among other things, they benefit from the free choice of a personal senior physician and comprehensive personal care from admission to discharge.
  • A dedicated nurse and therapists ensure personal and trustworthy care.
  • Patients also enjoy first-class cuisine, high-quality facilities, and other services such as guest relations.

Prof. Dr. Martin Fiedler, Medical Director of Inselspital, emphasizes the advantages of Insel Premium: «The broad-based expertise concentrated in one department enables outstanding, interdisciplinary medical care with equally excellent and highly individualized personal nursing.» Stefan Janz, Director of Management Services at Insel Gruppe, also notes: «Insel Premium allows us to clearly differentiate the additional services provided to patients with supplementary insurance. Thanks to the spatial, structural, and personnel requirements, the additional services we provide for the well-being of our patients go well beyond the standard.»

Full operation starting in May

The Insel Group is continuously expanding its capacity for Insel Premium. Full operation in both the east and west areas, with a capacity of 76 beds, is scheduled for May 2024. Until then, the implemented structures and processes will be continuously evaluated and improved, and the necessary human resources will be built up.
