Janine Abu-Isa, MD, MBA, will be appointed as a Senior Staff Physician at the Department of Neurosurgery at Inselspital effective October 1, 2026. With this promotion, the clinic recognizes her longstanding commitment to neurosurgical patient care and her dedication to the further development of the outpatient clinic.

Janine Abu-Isa began her neurosurgical training in 2006 at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital. After further positions in neuroradiology in Bern and neurosurgery in Lugano, she returned to the Department of Neurosurgery as an attending physician. She has been head of the neurosurgical outpatient clinic since May 2025.
Her clinical areas of expertise include spinal disorders as well as pituitary and brain tumor surgery. In addition to her medical work, she earned an MBA with a focus on healthcare management.
