Dr. Matteo Montalbetti has been Deputy Attending Physician at the Department of Neurosurgery at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, under the direction of Prof. Andreas Raabe, since July 2025.
He completed his medical studies at the University of Zurich. As part of an experimental doctoral thesis at the Institute for Brain Research at the University of Zurich, he conducted research under the supervision of Prof. Sebastian Jessberger using 2-photon in vivo imaging techniques on the mechanisms of stable integration of hippocampal neural stem cells into the neural network.
In 2019, Dr. Montalbetti began his specialist training at the Department of Neurosurgery at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital. From 2024 to 2025, he completed a year abroad at the Neurosurgery Clinic and Inter
