Michael Murek, MD, is a specialist in neurosurgery and has been a senior physician at the University Department of Neurosurgery at the Inselspital Bern since 2017. He specializes in operations for brain tumors, spinal diseases and aneurysms. Michael Murek is a member of several national and international professional societies.
He received his specialist training at the University Department of Neurosurgery at the Inselspital Bern under the direction of Prof. Andreas Raabe. He was able to complete his specialist training with a non-specialist year at the University Clinic for Intensive Care Medicine at the Inselspital Bern as well as at the Clinic for Neurosurgery at the University Hospital in Geneva (HUG). His scientific training was deepened by a stay abroad at Yale University in the USA.
Dr. Murek was President of the Swiss Young Neurosurgeons Society (SYNS) from 2014-2017 and co-responsible for planning and organizing continuing education courses and symposia.
