Dr. med. Sabry Barlatey studied human medicine at the University of Lausanne. From 2015-2019, he completed an MD-PhD program at the Brain Mind Institute of the EPF Lausanne as a fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). His PhD thesis focused on successful biological strategies to regenerate injured spinal cord fibers and neuroprostheses to restore broken proprioception after complete spinal cord injury. After a semester as an assistant doctor in the emergency ward at Sion Cantonal Hospital, Sabry Barlatey began his further training at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery at Inselspital Bern under the direction of Prof. Andreas Raabe in 2019. Sabry Barlatey has been completing a rotation year at the hospital in Sion since November 2023.
