Workshop descriptions

Workshop 1: Inomed (Sat April 5, 2025, 09:00–11:00):

Intraoperative mapping with the brand new NeuroExplorer 8 software

Learn how to set up intraoperative mapping with practical scenarios and exercises.

Workshop 2: Nexstim (Sat April 5, 2025, 09:00–11:00):

nTMS hands on workshop to practice non-invasive, preprocedural motor mapping first hand

Guided by an experienced operator, you will be able to deliver pulses and see motor-evoked potentials in real-time. See how coil positioning, tilt and rotation influence the stimulation intensity on the cortex and why navigating the coil in real-time is crucial for accurate results. We will also show you how nTMS language mapping works and which types of errors you might see. Both nTMS motor and language mapping data can then be imported into pre-operative planning software to support awake mapping in the OR.

Workshop 3: Brainlab-Langer (Sat April 5, 2025, 12:00–14:00):

From Fibertracking to IONM - Hands on workshop

In this workshop, participants will engage in hands-on planning using Brainlab's Elements Fibertracking software, focusing on visualizing and analyzing brain white matter pathways to enhance surgical precision. Following this, Langer Medical will present their neuromonitoring approach designed to support surgeons within their workflow intraoperatively.

Workshop 4: Stephanie Forkel (Sat April 5, 2025, 14:00–15:30):

Hands-On Tractography Workshop: Mapping the Brain’s White Matter Pathways

Join us for an immersive, hands-on tractography workshop, where you will explore the intricate architecture of the brain’s white matter. Using state-of-the-art data and tools, participants will be guided through manual dissections of major association, projection, and commissural tracts, gaining a deeper understanding of their structural connectivity. This practical session is ideal for researchers, clinicians, and students keen to enhance their skills in neuroimaging and diffusion MRI analysis. Whether you're new to tractography or looking to refine your expertise, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to visualise and dissect white matter pathways with precision.
